St. Patrick’s Day in the Treasure Valley

It’s almost spring, and that means it’s time for St. Patrick’s day celebrations! Wear your green so you can avoid the pinches and get the kisses!  Whether you’re looking for events that include green beer, or want to enjoy the holiday with the whole family, there are events all over the Treasure Valley!

St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run

One of the exciting annual St. Patrick’s Day events in Treasure Valley is the St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run in Boise. The 2020 Fun Run will be held on March 14, starting at 9:30 a.m. The Fun Run is open to people of all ages and is a great event for families. There are a trio of different runs at the event, including the 1-mile Leprechaun Loop. There is also the 5K Run and the 5-Mile Run. All runs begin at the Julia Davis Park bandshell. The adult entrance fee is now $30 while those 18 years and younger pay $20. The entrance fee increases $5 in both categories on the day of the event. Registration to the St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run can be made online.

Butte in Boise

Butte in Boise is the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Treasure Valley. Butte in Boise will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020, in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and take place at Boise Centre, 850 West Front Street in Boise. Butte in Boise includes a tremendous St. Paddy’s Day dinner buffet that features authentic porkchop sandwiches, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, authentic Butte pasties, Irish pub salad, and other dishes. In addition, a selection of desserts will be served, including Blarney Stones, Shamrock Cookies, and Mint Mousse.
A variety of activities will occur throughout the event, including music, dancing, and basketball. The first 150 that purchase tickets receive a free commemorative t-shirt.  Tickets can be purchased at the event or online.

Kiss Me, I’m Irish: Boise St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

Kiss Me, I’m Irish: Boise St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl returns for two nights to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day 2020. The bar crawl will happen on Saturday, March 14, 2020, and on St. Patrick’s Day itself. The pair of bar crawls will go on throughout the evening on both nights. Wristbands can be obtained at participating venues from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day. The wristband gets you into participating venues with no cover, and provides access to drink specials as well. Humpin’ Hannah’s St. Patrick’s Day Bash

Located in Boise, Humpin’ Hannah’s St. Patrick’s Day Bash is one of the prime holiday celebrations in Treasure Valley. Located at 621 Main Street in Boise, the celebration will include an evening of festive music including performances by Beyond the Burren (a Celtic and Irish Band), The Boise Highlander Bagpipers, and The Rocci Johnson Band. There will be food and beverages, Irish bling, and prizes throughout the evening.

Mine a Pot O’ Gold

Family second Saturdays at the Idaho State Museum is all about trying your luck this month! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as a family , as you step into the shoes of an Idaho gold miner and see if you can take home a pot o’ gold through their hands-on gold panning activity. All ages are welcome to drop in anytime throughout the day on Saturday March 14th. Free with museum admission.
