Treasure Valley Holiday Camps for Kids

The holidays are a busy time for families. The home needs decorating. Presents need wrapping. Menus require some thought. Christmas break provides the chance for some quality family time. However, parents often have last-minute preparations to complete. Treasure Valley holiday camps can give parents time to add finishing touches and divert the attention of youngsters by engaging in fun activities.

Planet Kid

The indoor playground is located on 1875 Century Way in Boise. The Wings Center in Planet Kid offers holiday camps for kids on break. Throughout the holidays, parents have the option of enrolling their youngsters in the Holiday DayCamp from December 23 to January 3 with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The facility is open daily from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. The camp accepts children from age three through seventh grade for a variety of activities that include building gingerbread houses and taking field trips to the Idaho Ice World. Other activities involve games, rock climbing and science-themed projects. The facility also offers Parent’s Night Out and a New Year’s Eve Sleepover events.

Treasure Valley Family YMCA

The Y in Caldwell and the sister facility in West Boise offer camps throughout the holiday season. Youngsters of all ages have the chance to become Jedi Knights, build Battle Bots, play games go rock climbing or swimming. Cooking and other holiday-themed events are also offered. The camps are available for half days from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. Full-day camps are open from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Camp days occur on December 23, 26, 27,30 and January 2 and 3.

Fort Boise Community Center

The center is situated on 700 Robins Road and offers camps on Monday, December 26 and Friday, December 30. Kids aged seven to 11 are welcome. The facility offers games, rock climbing, hikes and other activities.

Bodies in Motion

The annual Blizzard Bash Winter Camp welcomes youngsters aged three to 12. Camp times run from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. The winter camps are available on December 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, 31 and January 2, 3. Pre-camp care is available for two hours before the winter camp and for three hours after the camp concludes. The bash provides kids with the chance to participate in a variety of holiday-themed activities that include snowflake contests, cooking decorating, indoor snowball fights and movie watching.

Nampa Rec Center

The center welcomes youngsters aged three to 12 to enjoy two hours of fun and activities at Santa’s Workshop. The workshop takes place on December 14 from noon to 2 P.M. The varied activities include decorating cookies, making crafts and playing games. Santa will arrive for a visit.

Children’s Winterland Festival

The festival takes place at the Boys & Girls Club on 911 N. Meridian Road in Meridian on December 14 from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. The event is free with a food bank donation. Youngsters enjoy decorating cookies, making Christmas cards and ornaments along with playing holiday-themed games.
