Homes of Idaho's history

Colby James Lampman was born in Nampa, Idaho and is the current Designated Broker and President of a local independent real estate brokerage, Homes of Idaho, Inc. Colby runs the brokerage alongside his wife, Kassy Lampman.

The Lampman family has been engrained in real estate and the Treasure Valley since 1975, and that is where the Homes of Idaho story begins.

Colby’s mother, Debbie took a job as a secretary/administrator for the Nampa Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Debbie soon found that she had a true passion for real estate. She was told by an elder in the industry that real estate was a “man’s job” and that she was “too nice”. Rather than be discouraged, she set out to prove him wrong.

Debbie obtained her real estate license in 1978 and became a top salesperson. She obtained her associate broker license in 1982. She was an office manager and remained a top salesperson until 1989.

Colby’s parents, Doug and Debbie Lampman, founded RE/MAX of Nampa/Caldwell in 1990 and went on to build the strongest multi-office RE/MAX franchise in the entire Treasure Valley, with offices in Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian, Boise, and McCall.

In the later 90’s, Doug and Debbie purchased an existing print real estate magazine in the pre-internet era called “Homes of Idaho”, which became the exclusive advertising magazine for their RE/MAX offices. They registered HomesOfIdaho.com in 1998, becoming the first real estate website in the Treasure Valley to initiate a listing feed for customers to view for sale properties.

Colby’s real estate career seemed destined after having been exposed to the industry his entire life, but Colby desired to explore other opportunities. Colby attended college and managed a local independent movie theatre chain from 2003 until 2005.

After 15 years with RE/MAX, Doug and Debbie sold their companies. They founded a new independent real estate office with their media and advertising company at the forefront. The Homes of Idaho we know today was born.

Colby entered the real estate world in early 2005, as the first agent for Homes of Idaho. Colby became the top producer of Homes of Idaho, and built a strong real estate career consisting of repeat and referral business based upon the same foundation and principals as his family.

Colby met his wife Kassy in 2008 when she purchased a home. Kassy was initially going to call the agent on the for sale sign and Colby and Kassy would have never met since the home wasn’t listed by Homes of Idaho. Kassy’s mother and grandmother were both diehard clients of Homes of Idaho since they moved here from Montana, and they urged Kassy to contact Homes of Idaho. That is how Colby & Kassy met.

After marriage, Kassy owned and managed her own local coffee shop business for a few years before taking the leap into real estate herself in 2016 to work alongside her husband, just as Colby’s parents had done successfully for several decades. Colby and Kassy have 3 children.

Colby became an Associate Broker for Homes of Idaho in 2014, and he finally took the biggest step towards his destiny in 2016 by taking over the reins of Homes of Idaho. Colby was fully determined that with the help of his wife, together they would carry on the legacy of Homes of Idaho into the next generation.

Homes of Idaho has become a leading real estate brokerage in Idaho and the Treasure Valley thanks to selfless leadership, extremely dedicated agents, and passionate devotion for the local community.
